Brian Hannan began his financial career on the floor, of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) for Lind-Waldock in 1993.

In 1996, He then went on to become Director of Operations and launchedone of the first online foreign exchange platforms, which generated daily volumes in excess of $100 million.

Brian was the first registered FX Broker in the United States with the CFTC, and influential in bringing regulation to the unregulated market at that time.

He was then the Manager of a U.S. Fund of Funds Hedge fund for Rothschild Solomon, that focused on International arbitrage trading investments.In 2001 he founded Webmonopoly an internet marketing agency which works with some of the most prominent fortune 500 entertainment and media companies.

In 2008, Brian co-founded the investment banking firm, Agra Capital. Mr. Hannan has serviced small and middle market clients, on a wide range of corporate finance transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, institutional debt & private equity investments, mezzanine financings in Specialty finance & Fintech platforms, Fund Finance, Patent finance, Metals & Mining & Healthcare verticals.Brian’s breadth of experience across all markets is one of the real strengths behind Whisky River and its client’s continued successes.

Scott’s love of whisky began right where he grew up in the Perthshire region of Scotland, best known for Glenturret, Scotland’s oldest distillery, in essence the true home of Whisky Distilling. Also home to Aberfeldy Distillery, the Original Johny Dewar d llery, Scott’s Mum worked for Dewars Whisky in the 60’s and 70’s. You might say that Whisky is in the blood of Mr. Matthew.

After a 7 year spell in the Army going around the world, Scott studied Economics and started as an FX Broker in the city of London. After a 5 years in London, he moved to Frankfurt to work with Institutional clients managing a portfolio of Buy side Equity banks and Brokerages. At this time Scott was always keeping one eye on the Whisky industry and its continued growth.

Scott then went to work for a major UK Bank as a Project manager, helping design their new Trading Platform. Since them Scott has taken numerous roles all over the World, Training Financial Services Personnel on how to compliantly sell financial products. When the opportunity came to mix both his professional attributes with something that was very much from his roots, it was too good to pass up and the Whisky River team are glad to have Scott as our Global Sales Director.

Scottish born entrepreneur Mark McGairy’s career spans 20 years in the private equity and investment markets. Beginning his career in the US and Canada in the buoyant real estate markets, he learnt his way around the finance world. After learning his trade in the US, he moved back to the UK for a short spell and was involved in the emerging renewable energy markets for small to medium companies in corporate finance.

He then spent 10 years in the Middle East where his company worked with private family offices and ultra high net worth clients looking for the newest and best in class, innovative companies that are putting the Middle East at the forefront of the global market to this day. 

Mark has now been involved in the Whisky industry for 5 years, working with some of the industry’s best suppliers of high-end blue chip Whisky Casks. He is our man on the ground and spear heads our supply network of Whisky casks to get our clients the best of the best.
